- Rodrigo Abril de Abreu and Joana Loureiro, Lab in a Box - Future with Science Teacher Guide (Ed. 2020-2021)
Lab in a Box – Future with Science (LiB) is a multi-country science education project with a social impact mission. It develops, produces, and implements a portable, modular, low-cost science experiments kit, to foster the practice of science in the classroom, without the need for laboratories or expensive equipment.
The editions from 2019 to 2022 were specially designed to instill in students a sense of wonder about the world around them, critical thinking, scientific curiosity, ecological awareness, and active citizenship.
Each kit was tailored to the specific country in which it was implemented and integrated into the school curriculum. The teacher guides considered each local context, emphasizing its natural, social, historical, and scientific richness.
Alongside, LiB also provided accredited teacher training, classroom support, online resources, and a continuous exchange of experiences between scientists, teachers and students through the “Lab in a Box” online forums.
